Congratulations, domestic workers!


The Bishop Tji Haksoon Justice & Peace Foundation in South Korea formally announced on January 3 that the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) will be the 20th Justice and Peace Award winner in 2017.

Here is the official letter from the Chairman of the Tji Hak-Soon Justice & Peace Foundation:


Dear Chairman of International Domestic Workers Federation,

We would like to offer a greeting of justice and peace to your organization.

We, Bishop Tji Haksoon Justice & Peace Foundation are happy to inform you that your organization is the 20th Justice and Peace Award winner in 2017.

All of our members were very impressed by your dedication to defending the domestic workers’ rights globally. 

Therefore we would like to thank your organization for all your achievement and very pleased that we can grant the Justice and Peace Award to you.

The award ceremony will be held in Sejonghall of Sejong Center in Seoul at 7:00 PM. on March 14 (Tue) in 2017.

We would like to invite you (two persons including the chairman maybe) for 4 days staying from March 11 to 14

The tomb visit of Bishop Tji Hak-Soon, interviews, lectures, and meetings with media and human rights organizations are scheduled while you are staying in Korea.

The Award includes a prize of $20,000 and a medal. Please let us know whether your organization will accept the Award or not at least until January 28 in 2017, and send us a draft (1 page enough in A4 size) of your speech for being a winner by February 6. That will be addressed in the award ceremony.

In addition, please make a video file or CD (no more than 12 minutes) which you will record your current activities and anything you want to inform us about your organization, and must send us the video file until Feb. 10. It will be watched by participants during the ceremony.

We will cover all the expenses for your staying in Korea including airplane tickets and others necessary.
