The director of the Legal Office of the Ministry for Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, Jesus Maiato, presented Monday, in Luanda, the decree project on domestic work.

In a statement to the press, on the occasion of the seminar “Domestic work in the light of the Comparative law”, he stressed that the project aims at the formalization of the activity (special regime), an inventory on the number of work places in this segment as well as the development of specific vocational training for domestic workers.

According to him, the document lays down important aspects like the regulation of legal professional relation and social protection, introduction of the domestic work booklet, formalization of the work contract and guarantee the right for obligatory social protection.

The project, which is still analyzed and discussed between the partners for a posterior approval, also understands the rights of domestic workers, how they will be paid with regularity, to receive right wages and adapt to conditions of hygiene and safety, as well as the guarantee of the professional laws envisaged by the law.
