12 by 12 campaign, meaning that we campaign for twelve ratification of C 189 in 2012. Beyond the twelve, we will in addition, focus on those countries, which have been supportive during the ILO negotiations and in which we have active domestic workers’ organizations. Only by building strong organizations of domestic workers, with broad based alliances, we will be able to make “decent work for domestic workers” a reality.
We call upon people in our communities, in particular the employers, to hold hands with domestic workers in the “My Fair Home” campaign to ensure dignity and decent work to all domestic workers.
The International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) in partnership with the International Labour Organization is excited to launch its communication network for domestic workers around the globe to connect with one another online.
Promoting decent work for migrant workers worldwide: The Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families seeks to promote the human and labour rights of migrant domestic workers worldwide by addressing the challenges that make migrant domestic workers particularly vulnerable to the risks of exploitation and abuse.
