MADAGASCAR -

ILO Inter-Regional Knowledge Sharing Forum: Good practices and lessons learned on promoting international cooperation and partnerships to realize a fair migration agenda for migrant domestic workers in Africa, the Arab States and Asia.

Minister of employment announced that Madagascar will make an effort to ratify C189 at the forum.

Myrtle Witbooi, IDWF President, emphasized that the IDWF is about empowering domestic workers. She brought out questions for the participants: "How are you going to ensure that domestic workers know their rights in your country? How can you make the ILO Convention a reality?" She reminded us that domestic workers are workers and domestic workers want to be respected.
