Women for Peace -
Make Domestic Workers Workplace Safe

Message from Myrtle Witbooi, IDWF President:

"Have a great women's day and let us remember those women that are still working as slaves and continue with our fight for justice for all, the struggle continue. Greetings from the women I Ghana."

Message from ERNESTINA OCHOA, IDWF Vice President:

The International Federation of Domestic Workers (IDWF), sends a special greeting to all women domestic workers, and all women in general in his day; another day of struggle, of strengthening our unions and of our leaders. A day to reflect on the progress we have made and what we still need to do, a day of challenges so that we can leave a better workplace with decent laws. Every day there are more women who contribute to the economic development of our countries, but now our biggest challenge is to continue organizing women all over the world to fight for the transformation and liberation of all women, so that we can end modern slavery.

Today is one more day to take the streets and shout for our rights and call on governments worldwide to sign the ratification of Convention 189 of the ILO on decent work for domestic workers, because this will be our tool of struggle and of recognition of our sector, often forgotten and marginalized.

Today we pay tribute to all women who have historically fought and gave their lives.

HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY!
